Roles, Significance and Importance of Sound/Audio in the Animation Production Pipeline

The animation production process does not end after the final creation of the whole animation project. It is still considered half-finished until the making of the audio aspect of the project. Sound can be considered as the other half of an animation project, basically because of its importance, as it adds a certain quality to the whole project.
Though sound production may be seen as less demanding than the animation process itself, it still has a role to play in the production pipeline. During the pre-production process, for the animators to be able to imagine what is needed of the character, may it be his moves, gestures or facial expressions, sounds or voices are sampled from the voice actors or sound producers. Dubbed voices allow the animators to create the characters to express what they need to express. Sound effects, Foley sounds in particular, give the animation actuality and a more realistic feel.
